Body Composition Testing

$150 · Bodystat QuadScan 4000 Assessment + 9-Point Movement Screen
Medical-grade bioimpedance analysis that tells you what a scale can't: how much of your weight is fat, how much is lean mass, and how both are changing. Every OmniFit program starts here — and if you continue into training, the $150 is credited toward your first cycle.
OmniFit Performance provides body composition testing in San Diego using the Bodystat QuadScan 4000, a medical-grade bioimpedance device, at the studio inside Teqneeq FHC — 10772 Thornmint Rd, 4S Ranch, San Diego 92127. The QuadScan 4000 reads the body at four frequencies — 5, 50, 100 and 200 kHz — which is what allows it to separate intracellular from extracellular water rather than estimate total body water from a single reading. The $150 Performance Assessment reports fat mass, lean mass, body cell mass, fat-free and fat mass indices, intracellular and extracellular water, phase angle and segmental analysis, and includes a 9-point movement screen. Results are interpreted by a NASM-certified corrective exercise specialist and, for clients who continue into a training package, the fee is credited toward your first cycle. Follow-up rescans every 4–8 weeks track whether weight change is coming from fat or muscle — including for clients on GLP-1 medications.
Data a Bathroom Scale Will Never Give You
The scale reports one number and hides everything that matters. Two people can weigh exactly the same and have completely different bodies — and two "identical" weigh-ins can hide muscle loss behind a shift in water. Reading at four frequencies, the QuadScan 4000 measures the fluid compartments separately, so a change in weight can be attributed to fat, to lean tissue or to fluid instead of inferred from the total.
Fat Mass vs. Lean Mass
The core split: how much of your weight is body fat versus muscle, bone, and organ tissue. This is the number that tells you whether a diet is working — or just shrinking you.
Hydration & Fluid Balance
Total body water plus the ratio of fluid inside versus outside your cells (ICW/ECW). Explains "mystery" weight swings and flags inflammation or under-recovery.
Phase Angle
A cellular-health marker measured directly by the device — higher values generally reflect stronger cell membrane integrity and better training readiness. Tracked at every rescan.
FFMI & Trend Data
Fat-Free Mass Index puts your muscularity in context of your height — a far better benchmark than BMI. Every rescan builds your trend line, which is where the real answers live.
Bodystat vs. DEXA vs. Gym Scales
DEXA remains the research gold standard for a single snapshot of fat and lean mass. It does not read fluid compartments, which is the measurement a four-frequency device adds: intracellular and extracellular water, and the phase angle derived from them. The rest is consistency and context — the same calibrated device, the same protocol, interpreted by the same coach who writes your program. Trend accuracy beats snapshot precision when the goal is changing your body, not photographing it.
Is Your Weight Loss Fat — or Muscle?
Rapid weight loss on GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide can take a significant amount of lean mass with it — and the scale can't tell you it's happening. Body composition testing can. OmniFit tracks fat mass and lean mass separately at every rescan, so you and your prescriber know whether the weight coming off is the weight you wanted to lose — and your training and protein targets adjust to protect the muscle you have.
Baseline Before or During
Whether you're about to start a GLP-1 or months in, the first scan establishes exactly where your lean mass stands today — the number everything else is measured against.
Lean Mass Protection
Rescans every 4–8 weeks catch muscle loss early. If lean mass is dropping, resistance training frequency and protein intake adjust immediately — before the loss compounds.
Data Your Prescriber Can Use
Objective fat-versus-lean numbers give your physician real information for dosing and duration decisions — not just a scale trend.
What the $150 Assessment Includes
Bodystat Scan
A painless, non-invasive bioimpedance measurement taken lying down — electrodes on hand and foot, results in minutes. No radiation, no claustrophobic equipment.
9-Point Movement Screen
Overhead squat assessment, posture documentation, and joint range-of-motion testing — mapping the compensations and restrictions your body has developed.
Results, Interpreted
Your numbers explained in plain language by a NASM-certified specialist — what they mean, what's normal, and what to prioritize first.
A Concrete Plan
Program recommendations built from your data. If you continue into a training package, the $150 is credited toward your first cycle. If not, you keep the data and the plan.

What People Come to Coaching For
Coaching is rarely the goal on its own. These are the situations it usually attaches to.
Long-Term Transformation
You want a body that holds up for years rather than a twelve-week push that unravels. The work is built to be repeatable: a plan you can still follow in month nine, progressions tied to what your body tolerates, and a coach who adjusts the plan rather than restarting it.
Fat Loss Without Crash Protocols
Aggressive plans usually fail on the joints or the schedule before they fail on willpower. Training your body tolerates is what makes consistency possible, and nutrition is coached alongside it with individualized macros rather than a template handed over on day one.
Desk-Worker Posture and Mobility
Long sitting hours, stiffness that arrives before the workday ends, and the sense of moving worse than you used to. Programming targets the specific patterns desk work creates, with corrective work built into every session rather than bolted on as a warm-up.
Data-Driven Hybrid Coaching
You travel, your calendar moves, and you want the work to continue anyway. In-person sessions combine with app-delivered programming, and the same benchmarks are tracked either way so nothing is guessed between visits.
Know Your Numbers. Then Change Them.
One appointment gives you the baseline most people train for years without: exactly what your body is made of, how it moves, and what to do about it.
